Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of motor activity on the development of 4th-5th grade elementary school students with mild and moderate intellectual disabilities at Sidotopo I/48 Elementary School, Surabaya. Limitations in motor activity coordination, balance, and basic skills hinder students with intellectual disabilities in learning, so that physical education teachers must play an active role in varying learning. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out through literature studies, questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and documentation related to learning programs and student development records. Data analysis techniques refer to the Sugiono model which includes data, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that 4-5th grade elementary school students with DIR were students and 2 students with DIS. This study is expected to provide a comprehensive picture of gross and fine motor activities, coordination, balance, and social interactions of students and become practical recommendations for physical education teachers in designing the implementation of effective motor activity programs according to the needs of students with intellectual disabilities.
